YOU HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB CREATING THIS SITE!

The connection from me to you through the internet social communication systems. If it wasn't for you Mats, It would have taken me a lot longer to set up these systems, because to be honest i was hesitant, maybe even a bit shy of these new mediums. As a result i did not make it a priority, it took me long enough just to get a website. Now, I am finding my internet style, and developing new online connections giving us a response result of almost 100,000 new people and counting... who have contacted us, and now know where to find my music, and personal updates on new recordings, concerts and activities, as well as this NEW MEDIA BLOG.

I can now communicate other interests and further develop and connect with communities of like minds and hearts. We will never forget you here at Rentavibe, thanks for helping to keep this little train moving forward, expanding into THE VIRTUAL MIND...

It was a casual afternoon, doing a bit of laundry, all of a sudden...the washing maching broken out in a heavy african rhythm on spin ...lasted for less than a minute, but it was amazing...is the little things ya know! x

When i went to this concert with a friend of mine, - Chaka (who had personally invited me), saw me in the audience and said in the middle of the concert in front of thousands of people..."IS THAT YOU JHELISA???!!!" I just melted, and said i love you, and she said "i love you too", and she carried on with her concert, blowing us all away with her incredible legacy of music. What a moment that i happened to shoot a few pix, although blurry they are pure Chaka art in essence. Enjoy! I have a witness to this incredible event perhaps i will get her to blog about it, because its unbelieveable, that chaka loves me!!!!! Check out Chaka's version of "Death of A Soul Diva" in the player, as of yet unreleased. ...and a vintage Rufus clip:

"Nothing beats working with someone whose talent is so remarkable, so pervasive that you can feel it from light years away… Jhelisa is such an incredible spirit, not only a phenomenal vocalist, arranger, writer, producer… She’s a fireball of energy, a catalyst of intensity and a creative being like no one I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. We go way back… In fact, Jhelisa and I were both living in London when I produced and recorded my very first album for Delicious Vinyl; the ill fated, never released, “A Message From The Angel…”, but that’s another story. I was singing back in those days, but never happily… The voice that I heard in my head, as I wrote and produced those songs, was way more soulful than I could ever manage and knowing my own limitations, I was keen to bring in guests to fulfill the potential that I felt I couldn’t reach on my own. When Jhelisa agreed to sing on a bunch of the songs I was in seventh heaven… So that was then, and you’ll probably never get to hear any of that material for a million different reasons, however, earlier this year Jhelisa and I teamed up in LA and the first of two very different tracks are about to be released, “Ultra Light” by The Angel feat Jhelisa on September 22nd and “Words Like Daggers” as 60 Channels… But the icing on the cake is additional Jhelisa flavour on my upcoming instrumental album, “Xtra Sensory Goodness”"

the best lyric i wrote last year, i think...

I was in Atlanta in the vibey home studio of Kenito the Brilliant, he played percussion on Survivin in the Key of Eflat from the "Primitive Guide to Being There" recordings...YOu can also hear Kenito on the best radio station in the ATL..WRFG...will keep you informed!!! Amy Goodman DEMOCRACY NOW!! I digress.. We always had a good boho-music art vibe whenever Kenito and I worked together,he and his crew was my saving grace when i was making the transition from my beloved New Orleans after Katrina the hurricane to the safety of Atlanta.

Unfortunately the track has not been released and i'm getting anxious to put my own version out, with just the bass and melody and lyric that i wrote. The super amazing Kebbi Willaims is on Flute, straight out of the ATL, he also plays very sexy saxy, amongst other instruments indeed, a deepness beyond his years...Check out his playing with OUTKAST..the funkiest band in the ATL.

I will post the demo i have started with the new version of OXYGEN to get some feedback from my peeps! UNIVERSOULOVE! jhe.x
